Inside Track can be inspirational at times! What better example to use than this? With the uncertainty in the steel industry how long will we be able to ride on a steam train around a steelworks? That aside we have come up with an innovative, varied tour of East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire that literally takes you to Hull and back! Fancy something a little different? Come and join us.

Holiday Highlights

Steam locos and planes in Doncaster
A brake van tour around the steelworks, wow!! (Appleby Frodingham Railway)
Explore East Yorkshire’s railways and historic Beverley
Trolleybuses galore at Sandtoft
The Gainsborough Model Railway – wow!
Discover Street Life (it’s a Museum!) and The Deep in Hull

Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 - Friday
Meet at Doncaster Station around noon and take a short drive through the town centre to the Danum Library and Gallery – home to 2 unique steam locomotives and lots of stuff about this railway town. Later, we head to sunny scunny for what is probably the tour highlight– a privately chartered, steam hauled, brake van tour of the British Steel Works – different eh!!
Meals: Dinner
Day 2 - Saturday
This morning starts with a rail ride on a rather special branch-line before steamy fun at Cleethorpes with the coastal light railway. Our visit includes the smallest pub in the world – located in the signal box! We press on to another super attraction enjoying the collection of trolleybuses housed at Sandtoft. Lot’s do see and do before we cross the Humber Bridge back to the hotel.
Meals: Breakfast,Dinner
Day 3 - Sunday
We start today with the pioneers of the Yorkshire Wolds Railway, and lunch in historic Beverley, before heading to the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum to browse its extensive collection, including the special Falklands exhibition. Then, it’s a scenic route that takes us to a fantastic model railway in Gainsborough that takes 10 engineers to operate. We return to Willerby for a final evening meal together.
Meals: Breakfast,Dinner
Day 4 - Monday
Homeward bound today, so we’d better find out something about the City of Kingston upon Hull before we go! So, we have included two very different visits. The Street Life Museum has railway and other transport exhibits before we encounter sea creatures galore at The Deep! Even the early afternoon departure is memorable as we set off for home from the splendid Hull Paragon Station.
