After skipping the British Isles in 2024, the iconic Tall Ships return in 2025 – and Aberdeen is the host port! This vibrant maritime celebration takes place between 19th and 22nd July, and Inside Track is offering a 5-day, 4-night adventure to see the ships, explore the Scottish Highlands, ride scenic heritage railways, and enjoy a unique blend of history, nature, and festivity. From steam rail journeys to royal estates and coastal drives, this is an inventive holiday not to be missed!

Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 - Friday

Arrive in Aberdeen and check in at the Leonardo Inn Aberdeen Airport. In the evening, gather for a welcome briefing to meet your fellow travellers and learn about the exciting days ahead.​

Immerse yourself in the festivities of the Tall Ships Festival at Aberdeen Harbour. Explore majestic ships, enjoy street performances, parades, and live music, and absorb the lively carnival atmosphere.​

Day 3 - Sunday

Venture into the heart of the Cairngorms National Park for a scenic ride on the Strathspey Railway, Scotland’s longest heritage line. Relish the stunning Highland landscapes as you travel aboard a vintage steam train.​

Day 4 - Monday

Begin with a visit to the Grampian Transport Museum in Alford, showcasing a diverse collection of historic vehicles. Later, enjoy a ride on the Keith & Dufftown Railway, traversing through Scotland's whisky country and sampling local produce along the way.​

Day 5 - Tuesday

Explore the Balmoral Estate, the Scottish home of the Royal Family, set amidst picturesque surroundings. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic coastal drive before returning to Aberdeen Airport for your departure.​

Don’t be put off by the idea of an “airport hotel”, this is a classy, comfortable, establishment, not at all affected by any noise and with rabbits on the lawn.
